Timeline
Beat 1 - The Wiring
My brain has always worked like a mechanic's brain. I need to know how things work under the surface. Growing up, people confused me. Social dynamics felt random. But magic did not. Magic had mechanics. Timing. Attention. Misdirection. Tiny shifts that changed what people saw and what they believed. That made sense to me immediately.
Beat 2 - The Decoder Ring
I spent ten years as a professional magician, and what I was really studying was human perception. How attention moves. How tension works. Why people lean in. Why they tune out. Why the smallest adjustment can completely change the experience. That became my decoder ring for marketing, sales, and communication.
Beat 3 - The Crash
Then life hit hard. A business partnership blew up. It cost me money, relationships, and a lot of self-respect. Later, a marriage ended, finances collapsed, and I found myself standing in a food pantry line trying to figure out how I got there. That season taught me something I could not have learned any other way: massive overhauls are usually a fantasy. Real change starts with one precise shift you can actually make.
Beat 4 - The Pattern
When I look back, every chapter taught the same lesson. Magic taught me that perception shifts on millimeters. Marketing taught me that businesses stall on tiny misalignments. Coaching taught me that people do not transform because somebody dumped more information on them. They transform when someone helps them see the one thing that is off. That is the 2mm Shift. I did not invent it in a boardroom. I found it by living it.
